Sandra wins fundraising award

SANDRA Howard, founder of the Sheffield-based national epilepsy charity, Fable, has been named Charity Fundraiser of the Year 2013 .

The accolade comes from Network She, which supports women in business and recognises their achievements.

Sandra set up the charity in 1995 and has so far raised almost £3m. It runs an advice service and freephone helpline for patients and their families as well as a support group.

The award was presented on International Women’s Day at ceremony in Llandudno. Sandra said: “This is overwhelming not just for me but for all the Fable team and our supporters.”
