IT’S an essential component of any Sheffield dinner table - and now Henderson’s Relish is getting behind one of the city’s biggest charity campaigns.

Manufacturers of the spicy sauce are supporting the Great Pie and Peas Up appeal, in aid of St Luke’s Hospice.

Henderson’s has even had a special limited edition rebrand.

Bottles with the limited edition label are proving a major hit with buyers at the hospice reception in Whirlow and at the 10 St Luke’s shops across the city.

As the special brand goes citywide, the bottle will also be available to buy everywhere from supermarkets to corner shops.

Five pence will be donated to charity from the sale of every bottle.

Ged Carter, the hospice’s income development manager, said the partnership was ‘extremely important’.

“A splash of Henderson’s is guaranteed to give any pie a little extra flavour and the bottle with its special label will be a collector’s item in years to come,” he said.

The campaign is being held to raise money for Sheffield’s St Luke’s Hospice, which needs to fund a £5 million new inpatient unit.

Running throughout March, the aim is for Sheffielders to host traditional pie and pea suppers in their homes, workplaces or community centres, with a suggested minimum donation of £10 per guest.

Many suppers are already being planned but there’s still time to send for a registration pack. Visit www.stlukeshospice.org.uk to sign up.
