A man arrested over a hit-and-run which left a Sheffield teenager dead has been bailed.

The 32-year-old, who was quizzed over the death of 14-year-old Jasmyn Chan, was arrested on Wednesday and bailed yesterday.

Detectives are still trying to trace a blue Honda Civic in connection with the collision on Normanton Hill, Intake, on Friday, May 9.

Chief Inspector Stuart Walne said: “We are very keen to locate the Honda and believe it was last seen in the Granville Square and Bramall Lane area of Sheffield.

“The car is a blue/green colour and is an old style Civic shape, around 16 to 17-years-old. It may also have the registration number of P135 FEO.

“We are making enquiries with all the local scrapyards and garages and I would urge anyone who may know the location of the car, or who may have seen a car matching the description in their area, to please make contact with the police.”

Jasmyn was crossing Normanton Hill with a group of friends when she was struck by a car which failed to stop.

A race night in memory of Jasmyn is to be held at the Hollin Bush pub on Hollinsend Road at 6pm tonight.
