‘A wonderful and beautiful girl’ and ‘a shining example’ were just some of the tributes made to tragic hit-and-run victim Jasmyn Chan today.
Reverend Mike Reeder read out heartfelt messages of love for the 14-year-old who was killed trying to save her friend on Normanton Hill, Intake, on May 9, at her funeral today.
Reading one from a friend, he said: “I wouldn’t be where I am today if she hadn’t have been with me in everything. I love and miss my beautiful girl billions.”
Another said: “I miss Jasmyn so much. Everyone does. She was such a wonderful and beautiful girl. Nobody will ever forget Jazz. She is loved so much.”
Michael Fogg, of Michael Fogg Independent Funeral Directors, added: “This girl is a hero.
“To sacrifice her own life to save another is beyond belief at just 14 years old.
“We expect it of soldiers. But for a child to act like she did. There’s no words for it - she deserves a bravery award.”
Star readers also took to Facebook to add their tributes to Jasmyn.
Sharon Beech said: “Hope the family finds the strength to help them through and that the person that did this are brought to justice.”
Marie Gore added: “You were a shining example in life and now you will shine brightly in the sky.”
