Chesterfield FC volunteer Mick Beddingham has been shortlisted for an Unsung Hero award, finding himself up against other finalists from around the globe.

Chesterfield FC volunteer Mick Beddingham has been shortlisted for an Unsung Hero award, finding himself up against other finalists from around the globe.

A Chesterfield FC fan is in line for a top accolade in June - competing against other finalists from around the globe.

Spireites volunteer Mick Beddingham, aged 72, has been shortlisted for an unsung hero award in TheStadiumBusiness awards 2014.

He is nominated with six others, including fans from Sweden and the USA.

Mick has been involved behind the scenes at the club for more than 15 years, raising nearly £40,000 in that time.

He said: “It’s nice that people appreciate the amount of money that I’ve raised over the years.

“I’ve always been a supporter of Chesterfield and I’ve been connected for the last 14 years with the youth section.”
