Teenager rescued from lime trap

Have your say

A teenage boy was rescued by fire crews after becoming trapped in agricultural lime near allotments in the Rivelin Valley.

An ambulance crew was also on standby after reports that he had “sunk up to his knees” last Saturday afternoon. He was taken home unharmed.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “This incident shows the breadth of incidents the fire service gets called to respond to - not just house fires and traffic collisions but other types of rescue as well.”
