Troops will be welcomed back to Sheffield next week after a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
The Chestnut Troop, 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, already has the Freedom of the City and will parade through the city centre next Wednesday following its return from Helmand Province. It will be joined by the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery and the Band of the Royal Artillery.
The start of the parade will be signalled by the firing of a light field gun at 12.15pm on Devonshire Green before more than 250 soldiers proceed along Division Street.
The Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, David Moody, and Lord Mayor, Vickie Priestley, will review the troops and present medals outside the City Hall in Barkers Pool at around 1pm. The parade will leave along Fargate, High Street and Arundel Gate to fall out in Tudor Square.
