Man admits distraction burglary

A MAN has pleaded guilty to a series of bogus caller burglaries in South Yorkshire.

Curtis Smith, aged 21, from Cudworth, Barnsley, was charged with a burglary in Nursery Drive, Catcliffe, Rotherham on December 5.

He pleaded guilty and has been remanded in custody.

Smith will appear at Sheffield Crown Court on August 29 for sentencing.

A 35-year-old man from Cudworth, Barnsley, and a 43-year-old man from Pogmoor, Barnsley, have been charged with conspiracy to commit distraction burglary and will go on trial at Sheffield Crown Court in January.
