A MAN was taken to hospital with stab wounds after a brawl in a club in John Street, Sharrow.
He was one of three men attacked in the premises, which are also used as a Turkish community centre, on Tuesday night.
Police said the disturbance spilled on to the street. They sealed off part of John Street to traffic and pedestrians during investigations.
A spokesman said yesterday (Wednesday): “The three injured men were all taken to the Northern General Hospital but two were released a short time later having suffered minor injuries.
“The third man remains in hospital having sustained serious stab injuries in the disturbance.
“Enquiries continue at the scene.”
Simon Ford, who owns Cafe Euro below the club, said: “I was alarmed to hear there had been a stabbing. Although you hear of these things and there have been a couple on surrounding streets there has never been any trouble here.
“I have spent years building up my business and it has a good reputation, so I hope things get back to normal soon.”
