Fire crews were called to help after a motorist ‘lost control’ of a van and it came off the road - ending up in an embankment.

Three Sheffield stations attended the incident at 3.07am on Saturday morning, on Skew Hill Lane, Grenoside.

Jeff Jarris, watch manager at Rivelin, said: “It is on quite a nasty bend and a driver had lost control and ended up down the embankment.”

The male driver was out of the car when fire crews attended. He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.
