MATHS whizzkids from a Sheffield school calculated their way to first place in a competition.

The team from King Edward VII, Broomhill, won the regional final of the UK Maths Trust Team Maths Challenge.

Teams from 27 schools took part in the contest at Danum School, Doncaster.

Maths teacher Graham Harvey said: “The team performed spectacularly well, achieving full marks on three rounds and obtaining an overall score of 239 out of a possible 240.”

Emily Beatty, Cian McAuley, Sam Otten and James Stillman, were the team.
