MBEs for trio who have demonstrated great commitment

Former Sheffield magistrate Ann Hill is awarded the MBE for services to the community.

The retired recruitment consultant is recognised for voluntary work as a magistrate for 31 years and with Sheffield’s homeless charity Roundabout for 22.

Ann, aged 71, who lives in the Rivelin Valley, also helps at The Burton Street Project in Hillsborough. Cheryl Blair, of Ecclesall, a former executive manager at CPA UK, now retired, receives the MBE, for services to the promotion of accreditation to quality standards. The award also goes to Ian Hurst, president of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team. He was among the founders of the modern mountain rescue movement, and has been a volunteer more than 50 years.
