A young performer from Sheffield has won a scholarship so she can pursue her stage school dreams.

Mia Cockayne, aged 10, from Owlthorpe, won the year-long scholarship which will pay for her theatre arts education at Razzamataz Sheffield.

She scooped first prize in the Razz’s Got Talent show with her performance of ‘Do You Wanna Build A Snowman’ from Disney hit Frozen.

Students Ellie Needham, aged 16, and Daisy Peacock, aged nine, were awarded smaller scholarships.

“It wasn’t just about the overall performance – we were looking for originality in performing arts and for that real star quality,” said Razzamataz Sheffield principal Helen Green.

“We really hope this inspires Mia to keep working hard and enjoying her performing arts training.”
