A young woman is saddling up for a cycling challenge after her mum was diagnosed with heart failure.

Natalie Bainbridge will take part in the British Heart Foundation’s ride from Manchester to Blackpool.

The 20-year-old from Sheffield was spurred into action after mum Leelan was diagnosed with heart failure in 2009.

Natalie said: “It is so hard to see someone you love suffer like that. I decided to get on my bike and rally my friends and boyfriend to join me on the ride. I want to help other families affected by heart failure by raising money.”

Cash collected from the ride, on September 28, will boost the foundation’s Mending Broken Hearts Appeal to further research.
