PEOPLE with back and neck pain could be helped by a revolutionary treatment introduced at a physiotherapy centre in Sheffield.

While most back pain resolves itself or with a course of manual therapy, for some people unresolved back pain can take over their lives.

Sheffield Physiotherapy Clinic on Ecclesall Road has started using intervertebral differential dynamics - or IDD therapy - a non-surgical spinal decompression treatment which treats targeted segments of the spine.

The treatment is commonly used to ‘slipped’ discs the lower back or neck.

Sheffield Physiotherapy’s director, John Wood, said: “For some time I have wanted to do more for patients with disc problems and related conditions such as sciatica.

“Having seen the effectiveness of IDD therapy at other clinics in the UK over the past couple of years, I am delighted to bring technology to our clinic.”

“IDD isn’t a cure-all, but the results for many patients can be life-changing.”
