HILLSBOROUGH Barracks is set for the opening of a new charity shop with proceeds to be used to help find homes for the city’s growing number of abandoned pets.
The RSPCA shop will raise funds directly for the RSPCA Sheffield Animal Centre which rehomes unwanted and cruelly-treated animals at a cost of around £2,000 a day to run.
The centre relies solely on local donations and every penny helps to rehabilitate and re-home abandoned pets.
General manager Stella White said: “Our new charity shop will open on the upper level of the Hillsborough Barracks on Saturday, August 11, and we look forward to welcoming the public from 9am onwards.
“We have been given some fantastic quality stock, including some very well-known labels and people will be able to pick up some incredible bargains.
“But we still have a long way to go in our stock appeal. We would be very grateful if people could continue to bring stock into the RSPCA Sheffield Animal Centre at 2 Stadium Way.”
