School’s world links

WESTWAYS Primary in Crookes has been awarded an International School Award for the second time in recognition of its work in “bringing the world into the classroom”.

The British Council’s honour is for outstanding work in international education, such as through links with overseas schools and helping young people to gain wider cultural understanding and skills.

Sex attack probe

DETECTIVES are investigating a report of a serious sexual assault on a woman in her 40s in a wooded area near the tram stop in Langsett Road in the Hillsborough area last Saturday at around 10.30pm.

Garage fire victims

TWO men suffered burns when a car they were working on in a garage in Cricket Inn Road, Wybourn, caught fire.

They were treated at the scene by firefighters before paramedics took them to hospital.
