AN APPEAL has been lodged with the Government after Sheffield City Council rejected plans for a 12.5m telecommunications mast and equipment in Redmires Road, near the junction with Worcester Road, Lodge Moor.

Cyclist hurt in crash

A MALE cyclist was injured in a crash with a van at the junction of the A625 Hathersage Road and Sheephill Road, Dore Moor, on Saturday at 12.50pm. The road was closed and eight police cars attended.

Incinerator open day

BEHIND-the-scenes tours of the Energy Recovery Facility in Bernard Road will be given by operators Veolia Environmental Services during an open day on Saturday, October 29 from 10am to 3pm.

Visitors will be told how the incinerator makes energy and heat from the contents of Sheffield’s black bins.

Motor home blaze

A MOTOR home was destroyed in a fire in Milnrow Road, Parson Cross, in the early hours of Sunday.
