A BOY aged four who was involved in a collision with a minicab on London Road is recovering back at home, police have revealed.

The four-year-old was struck on August 28, and an off-duty paramedic gave first aid at the scene before the youngster was rushed to Sheffield Children’s Hospital by ambulance.

Initial fears were he had been seriously hurt - but a South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said his injuries turned out to be minor.

OAP’s cut head

A PENSIONER escaped with a cut to his head after being struck by a lorry as he crossed a road in Sheffield. The 80-year-old was involved in the collision on Herries Road at 11.40am on Thursday. He was taken to the Northern General Hospital.

Restaurant blaze

A CHIP pan caught fire at La Tasca restaurant in Meadowhall. Firefighters used a dry powder extinguisher on the flames and nobody needed to be evacuated, on Thursday.
