News In Brief: TV stars all set to tread the boards

STARS from TV’s Band of Brothers and Pride and Prejudice will appear in a new production at Sheffield Crucible’s Studio Theatre.

Adam James will play Tony, alongside Adrian Lukis as Carter, in Bull, Mike Bartlett’s play about office politics, from February 6 to 23.

Bull is supported by Sheffield law firm, Hill Dickinson, which is funding new writing projects at Sheffield Theatres over the next three years.

Walkers’ challenge

SOUTH Yorkshire walkers are being urged to take part in The British Red Cross’s Yorkshire 3 Peaks walk which takes place on July 20 in the Yorkshire Dales.

Registration is open for the sponsored walk, which covers 24.5 miles and three 700m high peaks.

Entry to the event is £10 - see www.redcross.org.uk/Y3P to register.

Splashing bargain

ECKINGTON swimming pool is providing bargain half-term entertainment for parents.

The pool will be running holiday activities, such as aquafun and junior gym, from Monday February 18 - and kids can swim for just £1 all week long.

Drug search arrest

CANNABIS worth £20,000 was found by police at a house on Valentine Crescent, Shiregreen, Sheffield, where a 52-year-old man was arrested after the search on Monday.

Quad biker nicked

A TEENAGE boy was caught riding a quad bike by police in Longley, Sheffield, on Monday and had his bike seized.
