AFTER seeing her best friend’s father lose his battle with cancer, Ashlee Roe decided to take on a unique fundraising challenge.
She has pledged not to buy any new clothes during 2012 – instead donating £50 every month to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The 24-year-old, from Woodhouse, said: “Woody was one of the coolest guys I have ever met and when he passed away I was crushed.
“He was diagnosed with liver cancer only three weeks before he passed away and the Macmillan nurses made his end just a little bit easier.
“His daughter, Annie, is a true inspiration to me and I just wanted to do my part.”
Ashlee’s employer Sky in Sheffield will also be matching donations of up to £300 towards the money she raises.
