BBC One’s flagship magazine programme, The One Show, is heading to Sheffield for its first roadshow with hosts Alex Jones and Matt Baker broadcasting live.
The pair will be in Endcliffe Park from noon on Wednesday, August 29, for an ‘action-packed’ programme of events.
Families will have the chance to take part in a number of interactive live performances, including a wildlife show with TV naturalist Mark Dilger and a science show featuring The One Show’s own ‘inventor’, Marty Jopson.
There is the chance to become part of The One Show Road Show Choir celebrating Sheffield’s rich music history with a medley of hits arranged by pop vocal coach Carrie Grant.
There will also be a number of zoned areas – money, art, sport, science and history - with presenters offering their top tips, advice and information alongside local experts and demonstrations.
And people can contribute to a piece of mass public art that will go on display in Sheffield.
Entry to the event is free and tickets are not required.
Following the main day’s activities there will also be a live broadcast from the park of The One Show at 7pm on BBC1.
Executive producer Moray London said: “We are delighted that Sheffield has agreed to play host to our first ever The One Show Roadshow. It promises to be a fantastic event culminating in the chance to be in the audience for the show as it broadcasts live.”
