Parking ban around airport

New road restrictions are being put in place on the approach roads to Robin Hood Airport and the neighbouring business park so motorists could be fined £100 if they stop on the roads.

Signs advising drivers of the consequences of not complying with the restrictions have been installed, and double yellow line markings have been painted.

The restrictions are aimed at reducing congestion caused by parked vehicles, which are said to cause a security risk, and there are fears it could cause delays for emergency vehicles responding to incidents at the airport.

A vehicle with CCTV cameras will travel on the roads affected by the new restrictions.

Motorists are urged to use the airport car park or the drop-off and pick up zone.
