A SHEFFIELD firefighter used pedal power to raise £600 for charity after cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
Watch manager Mark Scott, from Stocksbridge, completed the gruelling 900- mile trip by riding 70 miles a day for 13 days.
He embarked on the fundraising mission in memory of two babies - his son Darren and daughter Nicola - who both died at birth.
Mark donated the money to The Children’s Hospital in Sheffield.
He said the challenge tested him to the limit both physically and mentally, adding: “I met many great people along the way and learnt a lot about myself. It was certainly a journey I will never forget.”
Tonya Kennedy from the charity said: “It’s touching Mark decided to raise this money and we’re pleased it was such a rewarding experience for him too.”
