Perfect pass rate for town’s young musicians

Young musicians in Barnsley struck the right note by achieving a 100 per cent pass rate in their exams and assessments.

In all Barnsley Music Service entered 212 students for tests last term, aged between seven and 18.

Many not only passed but gained merits and distinctions as well, playing instruments such as piano, brass, guitar. woodwind and percussion.

The service is part of a wider Barnsley Music Education Hub which provides tuition to over 3,500 young people in the town, with a further 900 taking part in other music projects.
