POLICE say they are not expecting problems at Doncaster Rovers’ first high-profile home match of the new season.
The visit of West Ham United is expected to bring a near-capacity crowd to the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It is the first time the London team, relegated from the Premiership last season, will have visited the stadium.
The majority of the Hammers fans, whose team lost their opening home match last weekend, are expected to travel up to Doncaster by train.
A large police presence is expected at the station and in the town centre as well as Lakeside.
“It is being policed as a normal high profile police fixture. We are not expecting trouble,” said a South Yorkshire Police spokesman.
