TWO Sheffield councillors found out about tenants’ problems when they handled housing enquiries during a visit to one of Sheffield Homes’ call centres.

Cabinet member for housing, Coun Harry Harpham, and his advisor, Coun Isobel Bowler, called in to the South Contact Centre, at Norfolk Park, to find out how enquiries are dealt with.

Sheffield Homes runs two contact centres and answers nearly 400,000 calls a year dealing with rent issues, rehousing, repairs and anti-social behaviour.

Coun Harpham said: “This was a great opportunity to see firsthand the excellent work that goes on behind the scenes.”
