POP star Matt Cardle this week joined an eminent list of performers who have given concerts in Sheffield’s Winter Garden.

On Tuesday night, the X Factor winner gave a sneak preview of his upcoming tour with an acoustic set for a few competition winners.
It was the latest in a series of ‘intimate performances’ offered by Real Radio, which teams up with the council and the Mercure St Paul’s Hotel, and followed appearances by the likes of Mica Parris, Heaven 17, Paolo Nutini and Scouting for Girls.
For the lucky fans among the exotic plants, it was compensation for Sheffield missing out on Cardle’s tour.
