SHEFFIELD Pride is to return to Endcliffe Park this summer. Last year’s celebration for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community attracted 8,000 people.
Now organisers are preparing for the next event, on Saturday, July 16, which will feature a main stage, community area, beer tent and children’s attractions.
A spokesperson said the festival “prides itself on its inclusive, attitude-free environment designed to increase the visibility of Sheffield’s LGBT communities. It is important for a fun, non-political event to exist in order to draw attention to the importance of equality, and to highlight homophobia that people from marginalised LGBT communities may suffer.
“It is a time to celebrate similarities and differences as a community and thank all those individuals, businesses and organisations that support the LGBT community throughout the year.”
