AN AGE-OLD Christian tradition is being resurrected in Sheffield.
The annual Corpus Christi procession takes place in the city centre tomorrow.
This year, the event will be led by the Right Revered John Rawsthorne, Bishop of Hallam.
It sets off from the chapel of St Marie’s Catholic Cathedral in Norfolk Row at 3pm.
The procession stops at four specially-erected altars in the Peace Gardens, Tudor Square, outside Sheffield Town Hall and in Fargate before making its way to City Hall.
It has been organised to mark the Corpus Christi feast day, which celebrates the tradition and belief in the physical body and blood of Jesus.
A spokesman for the Diocese of Hallam said: “The procession was revived a few years ago to great acclaim.
“The procession is a great opportunity to show publicly that we are people of faith.”
