A WARNING has been issued by relatives of a Sheffield woman who was charged £350 to have a hedge pruned.
The 74-year-old, from Stannington, asked a gardening firm working for her neighbour to cut her hedge back.
Her son, David Slater, aged 50, said: “He quoted her £60 an hour, said it would take 30 minutes and my mum agreed and even made him a cup of tea, but when he came for his money he said it was £450.
“She said she didn’t have it so he dropped the price to £350, and rather than ringing me first she handed it over and he drove off without giving her a receipt. People need to know these kind of people are operating.”
