S. Anselm’s Preparatory School is a day and full boarding school for boys and girls aged from three to 13, situated in 18 green acres in Bakewell.
This academic year, a record number of leavers have gained scholarships and awards to some of the country’s top public schools and S. Anselm’s once more achieved a 100% common entrance pass rate. The key to the school’s outstanding record of success is the quality of teaching and the small class sizes, which ensure that pupils get a great deal of individual attention.
S. Anselm’s has excellent sporting facilities; there are extensive playing fields, newly furnished tennis courts, sports hall and an indoor swimming pool. Sporting teams regularly achieve national recognition.
Most children learn a musical instrument and there are several choral and instrumental ensembles. There are more than 50 extra activities on offer, ranging from golf, horse riding and climbing to brownies.
Dedicated pastoral teams ensure a happy, family atmosphere and that S. Anselm’s is a home from home. We strive to encourage good citizenship, children who are kind and respectful and who are known for their friendliness and self-confidence.
