A SHEFFIELD pub has won a regional award for the entertainment it serves.
Redhouse in Solly Street was named as the Best Entertainment Pub 2011 in Yorkshire and the North East in The Great British Pub Awards after a visit by independent judges.
Run by owner Jeff Smith, it has live music and DJ nights.
The competition is organised by the pub industry magazine, The Publican’s Morning Advertiser.
Editor Paul Charity said: “The award recognises the pub whose varied and successful range of entertainment has added significantly to its business success. “Redhouse has a fantastic offer for its customers and is a worthy winner.”
The pub, off the beaten track between Netherthorpe and Broad Lane in the St Vincent’s area, will go forward to the Great British Pub Awards final at the Hilton Hotel in London’s Park Lane on September 8 in a ceremony hosted by Rory Bremner.
There are four other regional winners of the award.
