ROADS will be closed in Sheffield city centre by 8.15am on Sunday in preparation for more than 6,000 women and girls taking part in the Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The location has been switched this year from Don Valley Stadium, with participants starting and finishing in Arundel Gate.
The 5k route takes them towards Furnival Square and ends next to the Crucible.
After an aerobic warm-up, the event starts at 9.30am and it is expected that all roads will be open again by 1pm. Free parking is being offered at park and ride sites at Nunnery Square, Middlewood and Halfway.
Spectators are being advised that the best vantage points will be the Peace Gardens, the town hall, Barkers Pool, Fargate and Devonshire Green.
Numbers of entrants are down on last year, which saw almost 10,000 women and girls run, jog and walk around Don Valley.
The figure earlier this week stood at 6,267.
