Rod Stewart and Blondie acts set to rock Uppertown club

Music fans will get two for the price of one at Uppertown Social Centre on Saturday, November 19, with fantastic tribute acts to Rod Stewart and Blondie.

Chick will be performing all of Sir Rod’s biggest hits including Maggie May, Reason to Believe and Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?

Then prepare to be taken back to the late 70s new wave-era as Chick’s wife Angie takes to the stage as Blondie singer Debbie Harry. Expect to hear a fantastic array of the New York band’s hits such as Heart of Glass, Atomic and Hanging on the Telephone.

Sir Rod has recently been awarded a knighthood for his services to music and charity.

The 71-year-old rocker is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold over 100 million records worldwide.

He has had six consecutive number one albums in the UK and his tally of 62 UK hit singles includes 31 that reached the top ten, six of which gained the number one position.

He rose to prominence in the late 1960s and the early 1970s with The Jeff Beck Group, The Faces and then Long John Baldry and the All Stars.

Blondie was founded by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein in 1974.

The band is regarded as a pioneer in the early new wave and punk scenes of the mid-late 1970s.

Blondie hit the big time with the release of the album Parallel Lines in 1978 and over the next three years scored numerous top 10 hits, including ‘Heart of Glass’ which was their first UK number one.
