Cuban vibes will fill the air in Sheffield this Sunday during a salsa spectacular event.
The new arrival in Leopold Square of Cuban bar and restaurant Cubana has secured the return of the popular Salsa In The Square festival.
The venue, which moved from its former home on Trippet Lane last month, has organised nearly 10 hours of free entertainment for the colourful event this weekend, which includes live music, salsa lessons, belly dancing and other dance demonstrations.
Salsa In The Square was originally devised by Leopold Square venue Plattillos, but when the bar-restaurant went into liquidation earlier this year it was feared the festival would be lost.
Staff at Cubana, which now operates from the former Plattillos building, decided to bring it back.
And they say the festival will be one of the most spectacular outdoor events of its kind in the region.
Adrian Bagnoli, co-owner of Cubana, said: “Salsa In The Square was becoming a very popular event so I’m glad we’ve been able to secure its future.
“Live outdoor salsa is a rare commodity in the UK and it’s great to be able to promote it in Sheffield.”
The entertainment will begin from 4.20pm.
