BUDDING entrepreneur Shalina Popat has been named as a regional top achiever for her performance in last summer’s Young Enterprise exam.
Shalina, a student at Sheffield High School, achieved Yorkshire and Humberside’s highest mark in the level 2 exam. She received her award at a ceremony at Sheffield City Hall, attended by business leaders and VIPs including Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.
He told the conference: “Britain is being held back by schools with a barely-concealed distaste for business. We have to shake ourselves free of the ‘snobby’ attitude that some parts of the education system show to enterprise if this country is to return to prosperity.”
