Lovers of animals are being asked to show their support for the RSPCA Sheffield branch’s Christmas campaign.

‘Food, Fostering and Fun’ asks people in the city to come to the rescue of the area’s unwanted and cruelly treated animals by making food donations, fostering or providing a treat or two to the charity.

People can donate food tins and pouches, for both cats and dogs, by dropping them off at the animal centre on Stadium Way, Attercliffe, or at its charity shops in Stocksbridge, Hillsborough, Woodseats and The Moor in Sheffield city centre.

Alternatively, people can pay for a festive meal for the charity’s animals by texting ‘FUND35 £12’ to 70070 to donate £12, or they can make a donation by visiting www.justgiving.com/rspcasheffield.

People are also being asked to consider fostering an RSPCA animal during the festive season to give them a holiday away from kennels. Those interested in fostering can contact the centre on 0114 289 8050.

The charity is also appealing for animal gift donations, such as fun toys and treats, so every animal in its centre can have a present on Christmas Day. Gift donations can be dropped off at the centre and its charity shops.
