The 44-year-old’s artwork combines music stars’ faces together with their well-known lyrics.

Among his fans is Pulp drummer Nick Banks who recently picked Steve as the winner of the portraits of distinction competition held at Sheffield’s annual Art in the Gardens event.

Steve said: “Nick Banks was both the subject and judge of the competition so it was really great that he picked my portrait of him out of 30 to 40 entries.

“He said he really liked it and that he had the perfect place for it in his house.

“It’s great to think that one of my drawings is now hanging on his walls.”

Steve’s current exhibition, which includes similar sketches to the one he created of Nick Banks, can currently be seen at The Green Room on Devonshire Street, Sheffield, which is known for hosting live music.

Steve added: “The collection has been really well received so far – people say they really like what I do.”
