IT MIGHT not look like much now...

But by tonight these tents and rigging will be transformed into the stage for ‘the best music event in Sheffield’.

Music in the Gardens, in the Botanical Gardens off Ecclesall Road, will swing into action this evening with the Keith Peters Big Band.

Tomorrow night, visitors to the park will join The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain for an evening of musical reinterpretation.

Friday’s concert is the highlight when legendary band 10cc play hits including I’m Not In Love.

On Saturday a classical performance will round off the event with a proms-in-the-park style finale.

A spokesman for organisers the Rotary Clubs of South Yorkshire said: “This year promises to be the best yet with a mix of past favourites, new additions and new ideas.

“These are four evenings of wonderfully talented artists in the perfect setting.”

Concert-goers are urged to bring picnics - if the rain holds off - while snack and drink stalls will keep those without food refreshed. Money raised by ticket sales goes to charity.

Advance ticket sales have now ended, and tickets for each event will be available only on the gate, priced from £12 for tonight and Saturday to £25 for 10cc.
