SHEFFIELD garden gurus have come up trumps in a prestigious contest.

Lee Bestall and Jon Housley scooped a gold award for their creation at Harrogate Spring Flower Show.

They created a writer’s pad - a pocket-sized garden designed as a relaxing and peaceful retreat for the author to be inspired to writer award-winning literary works.

Lee, aged 33, runs Inspired Garden Design and Jon, of Handsworth, JPH Landscape.

Lee, from Aston, said: “It was unbelievable to win the award.

“The day we went to pick it up we kept saying ‘you look at it first’ and had our eyes closed.

“I’ve won a bronze and a silver before but never a gold.”

“There are lots of purples and pinks and it is very relaxing. There are some grasses and a sculpture inspired by books.”
