YOU’VE got to know when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em.

And when it comes to poker, Dean Dunkerley certainly knows how to do that.

Dean, of Parson Cross, Sheffield, has won a place at the last table of the UK Pub Poker national final in Las Vegas during May.

He beat 378 players at the Grand Final at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham to get there.

Dean’s bid for the final place began in Players’ Lounge in Ecclesfield where he entered a weekly pub poker tournament, progressing to the regional finals and then the national final.

He said: “I can’t quite believe I’ve won this trip. It’s going to be an incredible adventure. When I rang my wife Patricia to tell her she didn’t believe me!”

Dean has won a seven-night stay for him and Patricia at The Orleans Casino in Las Vegas.

They will play in a welcome tournament competing for tickets to shows and trips around the city and at the final table game will compete for the title UK Pub Poker Champion.
