A BIG-HEARTED boy has raised hundreds of pounds for a Sheffield farm by trekking more than 80 miles – and he’s preparing for another lengthy walk.

Jack Crolla, aged eight, has completed the walks to raise money for vets’ bills at Heeley City Farm.

Now the Ann’s Grove Primary School pupil, who has severe speech and language problems, has Hadrian’s Wall in his sights as the next challenge.

He raised £454 for the farm with a Yorkshire Dales walk with dad Wayne Grocott over five days.

Mum Rachael Crolla, 37, of Myrtle Road, Heeley, said Jack starting his hiking with a walk across Snowdon aged five.

“Walking and camping was a way to build his confidence and get him learning outside the classroom,” she said.

As well as visiting Heeley Farm’s special needs unit, Jack has a veritable menagerie of animals of his own at home – five cats, two dogs, a pair of rabbits, two geckos and a bearded dragon. Log on to www.facebook.com/pages/Jacks-Adventures to follow his progress.
