Sheffield lecturer to represent Britain in Milan

A former student of Architecture at the University of Sheffield has been chosen to represent Britain at an international exhibition in Italy.

Edward Crooks, now teaching Interior Design at Sheffield Hallam University, is representing Britain in the under 35s category of the XXI Triennale International Exhibition, in Milan.

He will be exhibiting his project ‘Gained in Translation’.

Edward said: “In an age of increasingly rapid connectivity, the project seeks to emphasise the slow processes of messy chance and ‘wrong’ design in the act of evolution.

“As part of the Triennale, I hope that the project can be part of an international conversation surrounding the importance of making in the 21st century.”

The exhibition returns after a 20 year hiatus and will run fromApril 2 to September 12, 2016 in venues across Milan.
