Police probing the death of a man who was run over as he lay in the road are reappealing for information about his death - six months on.
Peter Topping, from Barnsley, died after the incident on Thursday, December 29, at 8.25pm.
The 56-year-old is believed to have been lying on Co-operative Street, Goldthorpe, when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, which drove over him, then left the scene.
The car is then believed to have turned left into Doncaster Road.
Despite extensive enquiries, neither the driver nor vehicle have been found.
Sgt Andy Noble, from South Yorkshire Police, said: “Peter was a well known and well-liked member of the local community and his family are finding it difficult coming to terms with his death. We hope somebody will come forward with the information that will assist us.”
There is a reward of up to £1,000 for information leading to an arrest and charge.
