PUBLIC transport passengers were today given details of reduced Bank Holiday services planned on the Royal Wedding day this Friday and over the weekend.

On Friday, April 29, and Monday, May 2, most buses will operate a Sunday service, whilst trains will run as normal.

Sheffield’s tram network will operate a Saturday service on both days, but will be disrupted by works to replace rails at Spring Lane on Sunday and Monday, May 1 and 2.

This will affect blue and purple routes only.

On the blue route, services will run as normal from Malin Bridge to Sheffield Station, but a replacement bus service will operate between Fitzalan Square, outside B&M, and Gleadless, serving all tram stops.

The service will run as normal between Gleadless Town End and Halfway.

On the purple route, services will run as normal between Meadowhall and the Cathedral, but a replacement bus service will operate between Fitzalan Square, outside B&M, and Herdings Park, serving all tram stops.

Services on the yellow tram route will not be affected.
