SIXTY lucky diners at Sheffield City College’s Sparks restaurant enjoyed a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Luncheon.

John Janiszewski, head of the catering department, said: “The college decided to put its bakery and catering students’ skills to the test by marking a national milestone in this way.”

The menu included terrine of salmon served with dill, turmeric and cucumber pickle on toasted brioche, cream of asparagus soup, honey glazed and rosemary scented rack of lamb with spring vegetables and Jersey royal potatoes.

In the run-up to the celebrations, bakery students have also been creating Jubilee-themed biscuits.
