A super slimmer who has lost a third of her body weight has set up her own weight-loss group to share her secrets.
Janice Renner had ballooned to 18st 4lb when she decided to crack down on her monster portion sizes and naughty snacks.
Since joining her local Slimming World group in Crookes in April 2012, she has lost six stones and is now just 14lb away from her target weight of 11st.
The 57-year-old said: “At the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012 I was fed up with my weight and life in general.
“I decided I needed to do something as I was getting heavier and heavier.
“I was eating healthy things, but I ate far too much of everything – my portion sizes were out of control.
“I’ve always eaten a lot of fruit and veg – but then I was snacking on chocolate bars and bags of crisps alongside that.”
Janice joined Slimming World after hearing about how easy it was from her NHS work colleagues.
She said: “I stick with my fruit and veg but I cook more healthily – I no longer cook with lots of oil and I don’t eat any ready meals.”
“Before, it was easier to go shopping and buy everything ready-made.”
Janice has also become more active and has a new man in her life – her personal trainer.
She said: “Prior to joining Slimming World I would only walk short distances and this year I ran my first ever 5km, which is something I am extremely proud of.”
Janice’s Slimming World group is held at St Mark’s Church, Broomfield Road, Broomhill every Thursday from 7.30pm.
