Sheffield railway station has been named the best around for the fourth successive year.
The station scooped the best large station award at East Midlands Trains’ annual best stations awards.
It remains unbeaten in the category for the fourth year running for its work with local charities, the large number from customers praising it and staff initiatives to create a better service for travellers.
Station employee Shaun Leonard was named as one of two winners in the outstanding personal contribution award after being nominated by the management team.
The judges said of him: “Shaun strives to deliver an outstanding level of customer service and nothing is too much trouble for him.”
Neil Micklethwaite, customer experience and commercial director for East Midlands Trains, said: “For many of our customers, our stations and station teams will be the first point of contact with East Midlands Trains, and these awards are great recognition for our people and the work they are doing to make a real difference for their colleagues, customers and communities.”
The awards, now in their sixth year, celebrate the best of the operator’s 89 railway stations.
