A DOG owner whose beloved pet was found wandering lost on a building site says she is ‘overjoyed’ to be reunited with him.
Mary Holmes’ eight-year-old husky, Red, escaped from the back garden of her home on Adlington Road, Parson Cross.
“He was on his rope in the garden, poking his nose through into next door’s garden,” said Mary, aged 60.
“The next thing I knew he wasn’t there, he must have slipped out. ”
She appealed in The Star, put leaflets in shops and asked for help on Facebook.
Red was found on a building site in Fox Hill, and taken to the council dog pound at Spring Street, Sheffield.
“I just want to thank everybody who helped,” said Mary.
“Red is part of the family.”
